Multi panel screens - Fusuma (sliding door)

The modern panoramic picture, of which you can see an example below, is a simplified version of a much older tradition: the multi panel composition.
The panoramic picture difficulty is finding a composition that is pleasing in a very elongated format.

Panorama

The multi panel composition was born out of practical needs. It was devised for screens or fusuma (sliding doors). The challenge is quite difficult. You need to make a composition which is pleasing both as a whole, but also every single panel should stand as a composition on its own. In other words, all the panels together gives you a nice "panoramic" view AND every single panel is a beautiful composition on its own. As you can easily guess, this is quite difficult to do. Below you will find an example.

Threefold screen - Fusuma

Panels are sold individually. You can buy a single panel, two panels (right + center or left + center) or the three panels. Notice that the two panel combination delivers a nice composition on its own too. The price is that of any other print except that there is a 5% discount for two panels and 10% for three.
